I’m really excited about this beauty recipe! It’s the first face cream I’ve made and I’m really loving it. I’ve been using it every night and I wake up with soft, moisturized skin.
For a while I had been using pure coconut oil as my nightly face moisturizer but I wanted something that did more than just hydrate.
This night cream has vitamin E in it to give an extra boost. Vitamin E is fantastic for skin and has anti-aging properties. It’s also good for softening skin and reducing the appearance of scars and dark spots.
The cocoa butter and coconut oil in this cream really hydrate your skin. Perfect for cooler months when our skin starts to get dry.
I know I constantly battle with flaky skin in the winter but not any more 😉 I have a jar of this cream ready to go.
I also love that I know all of the ingredients in this face cream. They’re 100% natural and pure. And it’s also customizable! You can use any essential oil you want to add a scent to your cream. I chose lavender because it’s really calming and perfect for bedtime.
The face cream starts out as a liquid. All of the oils are melted so you can combine them really well. Then the melted oil mixture is refrigerated until it becomes a solid.

Then it’s double-whipped to become a light fluffy cream. It really feels luxurious once it’s all whipped.

Be sure to only apply this cream at night- it needs all night to absorb into your skin. If you don’t give it time your face will be pretty shiny! But when you apply it right before bed, you’ll wake up in the morning with super soft skin.
DIY Vitamin E Night Cream
Ingredients
3 tablespoons cocoa butter
4 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
4 drops your favourite essential oil {I used lavender}
Instructions
In a double-boiler, or a heat-safe bowl over a pot of boiling water, melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil. Whisk together to combine.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Whisk in vitamin E oil and essential oil.
If you were using a pot, transfer your mixture to a medium-size bowl. Place the bowl, covered with plastic wrap, in the refrigerator for one hour.
Then, whisk vigorously until the cream is light and fluffy. This is easiest done with an electric mixer but I managed whisking by hand so you can do it that way too!
Cover bowl with plastic wrap again and refrigerate for half an hour.
Whisk vigorously again until light and fluffy. Scoop into a quarter-pint size mason jar and cover tightly.
Before bed, apply a small amount to a clean face.
Wake up with great skin!
Totally easy to make yourself with pure, natural ingredients. Your skin will be happy 🙂
I hope you give this a try!
